SEACRET - DevLog #1 - Launch !


Hello everyone ! Welcome to the DevLog of our student game Seacret!

We're a team of 13 students, and our aim is to produce a game to be presented at the Cannes Game Festival 2025 (FIJ 2025).

During this few-month adventure, we'll be sharing our progress on the various aspects of the project here every 2 weeks, and it's also here that we'll be posting testable builds, so that the itch community can test and give us feedback on our project as it develops!

But what is SEACRET ? 

SEACRET is a horizontal-scrolling 2.5D puzzle / narrative game in which you play a diver who must explore an underwater environment filled with mysteries...

Inspired by INSIDE, ABZU and SUBNAUTICA, this is an experience with a strong narrative component marked by the “Show, don't tell” principle, where clues to the history of the universe are scattered throughout the game, but never fully explained in writing. It's up to you to discover the secrets of this strange place...

In the next DevLog, we'll be detailing the scenario we've devised for the game, as well as the first concept art for characters and scenery, and finally we'll be showing a demo of the game's main mechanics.
