SEACRET - DevLog #4 - First build !


Hello divers, and welcome to another Devlog of our student game SEACRET !

For this week's post, we have a big announcement to make : we are proud to present to you the first playable build of the project !

After 2 months and a half of hard work, we are proud to share with you a prototype of the game for everyone to put your hands on !

We'll go in details on this post on how to install and play the build, make a reminder on how to actually play the game, and then we'll  show how you can give us feedbacks about your experience. Let's dive in !


HOW TO GET THE BUILD ?

Follow these instructions :

- Go to the main page of our SEACRET project here  https://team-seacret.itch.io/seacret 

- Download the zip file named "Seacret_first_build.zip"

-Extract the "build" folder

- Launch the executable file "CA_Sidescroller.exe" to launch the game, and then start playing !

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME ?

Seacret will be accessible via keyboard or controllers. However, we advise you to play with a controller for a more comfortable experience.

For those who don't know, here is an illustration telling you how the controls of the game work : 


The same config is used for Playstation controllers, which are supported by the game.

If you want to play with your keyboard, you'll use the WASD / ZQSD keys to move around, and the E key to interact with buttons/levers when near them, or to launch the harpoon if not near an interactable objet (the harpoon will allow you to attract items like crates, to place on pressure plates, etc)

You are now ready to enjoy the experience of the game ! The goal is to find an entrance to the underwater facility, and then solve puzzles to get to the end of the demo. Seems pretty easy, right ?

Don't hesitate taking your time to try things, have a good grip on the controls and the mechanics of the game, feel free to explore and try things out, this is what these early builds are for !


HOW TO GIVE FEEDBACKS ?

Once you're done playing the game, we invite you to share your experience with us by answering a few questions on this short survey available here https://forms.gle/6JCnqoL3YibgaJMM7 .

The goal is to get feedbacks from the largest variety of players possible, so don't hesitate sharing this prototype to anyone who's interested, and to invite them to give feedbacks on the survey as well !

In fact, our final goal for Seacret is to present the game at the International Game Festival of Cannes, where everyone will be able to try the Seacrets experience, from casual gamer children, to hardcore gamers, and everyone in between, including people that may never have played a videogame before.

So every feedback counts, from every typology of player, in order to help us provide the best experience for our game !
